Fire Board

Chairman Sellers is a sixteen (16)
year citizen of Sun Lakes, was elected to the board in 1998,
appointed Chairman the same year, and to date, still holds this
position. His career spanned 36 years with the Ventura County
Fire Protection District in California. He retired after thirteen
(13) years as a Deputy Chief.
His education includes a degree in
Fire Science from Ventura College with several classes in Public
Administration and Fire Administration from the University of
Southern California.
He was on
one of the original committees that helped conceive the incident
command system used not only nationwide, but in several foreign
countries.

Education: B.S. Penn State
M.S. Temple University
Six years secondary teacher in Dallastown PA. school district
23 years with Nationwide Insurance company in Columbus Oh. Last
position was Employment and EEO Officer.
10 years with Farmland Insurance Company (owned by Nationwide) as
Vice President of Corporate Services.

Appointed to the Sun Lakes Fire
Board in September 2006 Diane currently holds the position of
Treasurer of the Fire Board.
Diane was born and raised in
Southern California. Her schooling and professional background is
in marketing and sales. After raising their family, Diane's'
husband, Bob, retired from Ventura County Fire Department in 1989
and they moved to Sun lakes in 1996.
Diane has chaired the “California
Dinner" for three years, is President of the Sun lakes Arts &
Crafts Association, and
was one of the six Founding Members of the Community Assistance
Program (CAP) with the Sun Lakes Fire Department. She recently
completed training to be a CERT member with Chandler Fire
Department. You will find her working at Stein Mart, in Chandler,
on Mondays as a Boutique lady. For fun and enjoyment, Diane is an
active member of the Sun Lakes Lady Putters, a new member in one
of the Sun Lakes Wine Clubs and enjoys painting ceramics with her
friends.
Dr. John E. Crawford has served on
the Sun Lakes Fire District Board of Directors since November 2008.
He and his wife Merrie have been residents of the Cottonwood Country
Club since 1998. Director Crawford is a consultant for Landsburg
Associates and a retired professor of communications from Arizona
State University. He is active in the Sun Lakes Community Theatre and
Sun Lakes Tennis Club.
